Unfair comparison

New York Teacher

You can’t compare charters to public schools, since charters do not follow the same rules that public schools follow. They pick and choose their students, their teaching style is militarized and punitive, and they turn over their teaching staff practically every year so that teachers don’t have a voice in the education of the children they serve.

I would welcome a charter school that follows the same rules as the public schools. Then, and only then, would we see if their claim to success is warranted.
