Untruth in advertising

New York Teacher

The Families for Excellent Schools TV ad is racist. Families for Excellent Schools is exploiting fears for profit and casting public schools as villains when the real evil is the segregationist policy of the charters. Ex-charter school parents should be recruited to testify about how their children were kicked out of school. You can find them at every Committee on Special Education meeting.

The ad in question is absolutely disgraceful. It is proof of the horrendously negative tone that Eva Moskowitz has been spewing in an effort to promote her charter schools for her own selfish gain. She needs to be stopped!

I shouldn’t be shocked by the amount of money charter schools are investing in commercials. We were warned about this more than 10 years ago when we saw that hedge fund managers were moving lots of cash into charter schools.

The majority of the criticism against Mayor de Blasio is coming from this same source. Charter schools had the run of the house prior to his administration, and they want nothing more than to have him removed.

Charter schools have been dividing up communities and schools all over. My beloved classroom was turned over to a charter school. It can happen to anybody.
