This year’s scholarship winners included three sets of twins. With Eadie Shanker, scholarship’s namesake, are (from left) Zofii and Elska Kaczmarek Manhattan’s Stuyvesant HS, Michael and Jason Petropoulos City HS in Queens, and Jennifer and Kimberly Hegedus School of International Studies in Queens.
A dance performance Elite Little Ladies and Gentlemen, under the direction of Sonia LeMelle, provided the evening’s entertainment.
Zoila De HS of World Cultures in the Bronx steps up to receive her award Vice Presidents Catalina Fortino (center) and Janella Hinds.
Best friends Marzia Uddin and Udisa Chowdhury of Hillcrest Queens helped each other adapt to the new culture of this will be attending St. John’s and NYU, respectively, and both become doctors. “We worked on the scholarship application were the last people at the post office before it closed,” Chowdhury said.
