Financial literacy program with basketball stars
Basketball stars Drew Gooden of the Milwaukee Bucks and Iman Shumpert of the New York Knicks came to UFT headquarters on July 30 to share their stories about how to be wise about money with 3rd to 6th graders from East Harlem’s PS 30, one of the UFT’s community learning schools, and the UFT charter school in East New York who were participating in a three-day financial literacy program run by volunteers from PricewaterhouseCoopers. Another workshop was held at PS 18 in the Bronx. The grand finale was a visit to the New York Stock Exchange.
