Meet the President for Districts 18, 23 and Brooklyn High Schools
Luljeta Topi, the paraprofessional representative at PS 327, smiles for her selfie with UFT President Michael Mulgrew at the Meet the President event.
PS 109 Chapter Leader Martha Murray (front, second from right) is joined by UFT District 22 Representative Alan Abrams (second from left) and fellow PS 109 educators.
Wearing warm smiles despite the chill of the garden air are teachers (front, from left) Dawn Williams-Casseus of PS 158, Claudia D. John of PS 109, Monique Wallace of PS 180 and Roxanne Cattelli of PS 66.
Happily displaying their #UnionProud buttons are PS 109 teacher Janice Grannum (left) and IS 68 school secretary Jolene Jackson.
Mimi Carroll (center), the chapter leader and math coach at PS 200, displays the #UnionProud T-shirt as she helps Brooklyn educational liaison Michele Ferraro (standing, right) give out raffle prizes.
Enjoying the get-together are (from left) Rasheeda Powell of PS 213, Luljeta Topi of PS 327, Gina Grant of PS 213 and Belinda Lopez of PS 346.
Mulgrew and UFT District 16 Representative Camille Eaddy (fourth from left) stop by to chat with chapter leaders (from left) Marie Pelzer, Tracey Walker and Margarette B. Portes, paraprofessional representative Ellen Bailey and Sherry Langdon, a retired chapter leader.
General education kindergarten teacher Burnita Lewis (left) and special education kindergarten teacher Janiya Johnson, both of PS 273, connect with Mulgrew.
Jackie Herman, a Regents science and living environment teacher at IS 98 in District 21, wears several hats. Besides being the school’s chapter leader, she’s also the co-coach of the science team that won the New York City Science Olympiad and took third place at the New York State event — the highest finish ever by New York City school.
Educators from PS 214 in Brooklyn are all smiles at the event.
Paraprofessionals Jennifer Catajar (left) and Ramonita Montalbano from PS 279 enjoy the gathering with colleagues.
Getting together for a group shot are Brooklyn’s Academy for Young Writers members (from left) Dwaina Sookhoo, a math teacher; Jaclyn Reyes, an English teacher; Lindsay Manolakos, a math teacher; and Valerie Gary, a school counselor.
