Mulgrew and chancellor talk parent engagement at PS 206
UFT President Michael Mulgrew and Chancellor Carmen Fariña attended a School Leadership Team meeting at PS 206 in East Harlem on Sept. 9 to discuss ways to build parent involvement, after the new contract repurposed time in the workday for teachers and paraprofessionals to do parent engagement activities.
4th-grade teacher Lindsay Manevitz tells the group that parents were eager to attend classroom publishing parties that showcased students’ writing projects.
