Mulgrew visits IS 24, Staten Island
UFT members at Staten Island’s IS 24 filled the school’s library prior to classes on Jan. 16 for a meeting with UFT President Michael Mulgrew. The union leader addressed concerns that the educators had about the Danielson Framework for Teaching, teacher evaluations and contract negotiations. Mulgrew also discussed universal, full-day pre-K and his eagerness to work with the new administration to move education in the right direction. “It is nice to have a conversation with a chancellor who spent 22 years in the classroom,” Mulgrew said.
