RTC events 2015-16
Retired Teachers Chapter members who attended the April 12 general membership meeting in Manhattan received an update about the presidential election from AFT President Randi Weingarten and watched a presentation about elder abuse, while also receiving reports about other topics.
On March 2, UFT staff members and retired science teachers met with Orlaith and Ciaran Staunton, whose son Rory died from sepsis after a playground injury, to discuss curriculum and lesson planning on the subject of sepsis. Richard Waltzer retired after 24 years as the chapter leader and 32 years as a teacher at MS 301 in the Bronx.
