Stepping-up ceremony at Little Lions Early Learn Academy

UFT member Regina Carlton, who runs the Little Lions Early Learn Academy in East New York, Brooklyn, held a stepping-up ceremony on Aug. 5 for youngsters moving on to pre-K and then celebrated with a barbecue and block party, complete with a petting zoo and cartoon characters.

The party brings a little bit of the country to the city, with a petting zoo featuring goats, a sheep, a donkey, a rabbit, a rooster and two ponies: One pulled happy cartloads of kids down the block while the other was ready for any brave youngster who wanted to saddle up.
