On Oct. 26, state Board of Regents Chancellor Meryl Tisch announced that she will step down from her position at the end of her term in March, 2016.

In response, UFT President Michael Mulgrew issued the following statement:

While we sometimes did not agree, Chancellor Tisch fought for what she believed was right for the state’s children.  We wish her well.
