UFT endorses Farah Louis in special election for City Council's 45th district

Farah Louis won the May 14 special election in the 45th City Council district. Our Brooklyn members will mobilize once again to help her win the June 25 Democratic primary election.

UFT President Michael Mulgrew issued the following statement:

The City Council and the community both win with the election of Farah Louis, a true voice for our public schools. Now we will continue to support her as she has to win the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, June 25.

At the Delegate Assembly on April 17, 2019, UFT delegates voted to endorse Farah Louis in the May 14 special election to fill the seat vacated by former City Council member Jumaane Williams, now the city's public advocate, in the 45th district.

UFT President Michael Mulgrew issued the following statement:

Farah Louis knows our public schools are the backbone of our communities, and she will be a tireless advocate for students, educators and parents.
