UFT launches “Working Together” TV ad

Press Releases

The UFT launched a television ad campaign on Jan. 15 to urge New Yorkers to support the recommendations of Governor Cuomo’s Common Core Task Force, which was charged with reforming the current Common Core system.

The 30-second spot called, “Working Together” features news clips documenting the Task Force’s findings regarding the disastrous Common Core rollout and highlights of the commission’s recommendations, among them ensuring that state standardized tests do not count against either teachers or students.

The ad closes with the narrator saying “Let’s work together to support sensible and fair learning standards that help every child — in every neighborhood — succeed”

The campaign is expected to cost more than $1.4 million and will run from Jan. 15 to Jan. 24 on local broadcast as well as cable television networks in the New York area. The ad will run during the NFL playoffs and Knicks and Rangers games, as well as some of the television’s most popular shows, including Morning Joe, The Today Show, Good Morning America, 60 Minutes, The Good Wife, Modern Family, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan and other widely watched programs.

The spot was produced by Shorr Johnson and Magnus Strategic Media.
