2021 Spring RTC elections

Retired Teachers Chapter News

Every three years, members of the Retired Teachers Chapter have the opportunity to elect their chapter’s leadership. The Retired Teachers Chapter bipartisan election committee, in coordination with the American Arbitration Association (AAA), has unanimously agreed on the following dates and deadlines for our 2021 chapter elections, which will be conducted by mail.

RTC members will be electing a chapter leader and nine other officers, 15 executive board members and 300 retiree delegates to the Delegate Assembly. The term of office is the three years beginning July 1, 2021.

All candidates must submit a paper or digital nominating form with signatures.

Paper nominating forms are available at all UFT borough offices, the Florida RTC office in Boca Raton, in the RTC section of the UFT website, and by calling the UFT Election Hotline at 212-331-6310.

Tuesday, April 13
All nominating forms must be received by 5 p.m. on April 13.

Friday, May 14
Ballots will be mailed to RTC members’ homes. Candidates’ statements will be mailed with the ballots.

An RTC member who does not receive a ballot should call the AAA at 800-529-5218.

Wednesday, June 16
Ballots must be received by the American Arbitration Association by 8 a.m. on June 16. Ballots will be counted by the AAA that day at UFT headquarters.
