We have received new information from the Department of Education about the problem of some OTs and PTs not receiving uniform allowances when they should have at the end of the calendar year.
The DOE confirmed that the mistake arose from a failure to include title codes for OTs and PTs who have been appointed to permanent civil service positions in the list authorized for uniform allowances.
According to the DOE, the problem is getting resolved.
The earliest that the Office of Payroll Administration will be able to pay uniform allowances to eligible OTs and PTs is the end of February.
