The newly enhanced New York City Health Benefits Program makes finding a doctor and booking an appointment as easy as one-two-click for Department of Education-employed UFT members covered by GHI-CBP or HIP HMO plans.

The online service ZocDoc is one of many plan improvements now available. It allows users to quickly find nearby doctors in their network by name, city, specialty, insurance, practice, procedure, hospital or language. It also lets users browse patient reviews for each doctor. ZocDoc verifies the reviews to ensure that only patients seen by that doctor can comment on their visits.

After finding and vetting a doctor, members can use ZocDoc to see doctors’ open appointment times and instantly schedule visits online. Reminders help users keep track of their appointments.

And maybe the best part of all? Instead of filling out all those forms in the waiting room, you can fill them out once online and then keep them to use again and again.
