- For the first six (6) months of employment, all new Full-Time Registered Nurses shall be deemed employed for a trial period as probationary Registered Nurses. Time not worked due to illness, injury, leave of absence, pre-planned vacation or temporary layoff shall not be credited toward completion of the probationary period. [Note: As used above, a “pre-planned vacation” is one that an Employee had planned and scheduled as of the date that an offer of employment is made to the Employee, which the Employer has agreed the Employee may take after commencing employment.] Upon notice to the Union, the Employer may extend a Registered Nurse’s probationary period for an additional three (3) months.
- The probationary period for a Regular Part-Time Registered Nurse shall be the same number of work hours as a Full-Time Registered Nurse.
- During the probationary period, a Registered Nurse is subject to discipline or discharge at the sole discretion of the Employer.
