LearnUFT classes are now offered virtually! Although classes are listed by borough, you may register for any virtual class. Courses are available for both teachers and paraprofessionals.

| 9:00 am – 11:00 am

In this two-day summer institute, K-12 educators will examine the Culturally and Historically Responsive Education framework. Participants will consider how genius and joy are embedded into daily instruction in alignment with the Next Generation Learning Standards. Four CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.

| 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

In this two-day Teacher Center Summer Institute workshop, participants will explore the components of culturally responsive teaching. We will analyze the impact of a student's identity in the classroom and how it impacts math confidence and competence. We will also discuss the five equity-based math practices to meet the needs of all learners. Four CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.

Opportunities will be provides for participants to explore strategies and scaffolds that support student success in the classroom and beyond. Six CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.

Participants will utilize the Question Formulation Technique to engage students in learning around civics within the social studies curriculum. Four CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.

In this two-day Teacher Center Summer Institute workshop, participants will develop a shared understanding of Funds of Knowledge while exploring how they can be used to enhance the academic achievement of multilingual learners. Educators will learn strategies that foster relationships with MLL students in order to design meaningful instruction. Four CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.
