I have been a teacher for only six years, but 9/11 was pivotal in making me one.

I was nine months pregnant. I was working at an insurance company, and on that day, I decided I had to do something that was more important than getting agent's fees paid.

That is the day I decided to get my master's degree and become a teacher, and I have never been unhappy about that decision.
