DOE guidance for itinerant workers: Vision Education Services and Hearing Education Services

Coronavirus Update

The following email was on Sunday, Sept. 13, to Vision Education Services chapter members from Chapter Leader Vincent Peulla and to Hearing Education Services chapter members from Chapter Leader Raquel Sepulveda.

In such an uncertain time, the UFT is fighting for common-sense working conditions for all titles in our membership. To that end, the union has reached agreement with the Department of Education on itinerant employees during the blended learning period.

Vision Education Services and Hearing Education Services employees will continue to work remotely until further notice. With reasonable advance notice, you may be directed by your supervisor to report to a school but your supervisor must make these arrangements on your behalf and your preference and safety must be taken into consideration.

I will continue to share new guidance with you as it becomes available.
