Go Pink 2017 - NYC

UFT members in schools across NYC dressed in pink on Oct. 18 to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Resolution to support the NYC March for Climate Justice on Oct. 28

The UFT supports the NYC march for climate justice on Oct. 28 as well as the community actions on Oct. 29 sponsored by a coalition of more than 65 environment, labor and social justice organizations.

Resolution in support of aiding hurricane and wildfire victims

The UFT will work with the AFT and NYSUT to continue to raise funds for the communities affected by the hurricanes and the fires.

Resolution to fight the Trump administration's elimination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and to stand with nearly 800,000 immigrants who face deportation

The UFT opposes the repeal of DACA and will work with the American Federation of Teachers to protect DACA-protected employees from wrongful termination.

ELL Conference 2017

More than 1,200 members attended the second annual UFT conference on teaching English language learners — ELLevating — on Oct. 14 at union headquarters for a day of workshops focusing on the strategies that will help ELL students reach their potential.
