UFT 5K Run/Walk 2015

More than 300 runners and walkers made waves at the UFT's 2nd annual 5K on Saturday, May 9 at Coney Island. Sponsored by the UFT Middle Schools Division, proceeds from the event went to benefit survivors of the Nepal earthquake through the UFT Disaster Relief Fund.

National School Nurse Day Celebration 2015

School nurses came together on May 6 at UFT headquarters for a National School Nurse Day Celebration, at which they were welcomed by Chapter Leader Cathy Connolly and UFT Assistant Secretary LeRoy Barr, and learned about their history from the chapter’s founder, B.J. Darby.

3% pay increase on May 1

On May 1, UFT members employed by the DOE received a regular wage increase of 1 percent coupled with a 2 percent wage increase that is the first step of the phase-in of the 8 percent retroactive rate increase arising from the 2009–11 period.
