The UFT Pension Department will share information about Medicare enrollment and turning 65 with UFT members. This clinic is especially useful for members nearing age 65 in the next 12 months.
Pension Clinic: Tax-Deferred Annuity and Pension Options
During this clinic, we will discuss the TRS Passport Funds, i.e. investment options, help you explore your TDA choices at retirement and talk about the Required Minimum Distribution. We'll also provide an overview of the TDA section in your online TRS account.
Pension Clinic: Tier 6 Members - Pension Milestones, Final Average Salary and CAR Days
At this clinic for UFT members in Tier 6 of the Teachers' Retirement System, we'll talk about pension milestones, how to calculate your final average salary and reimbursement for unused CAR days when you retire.
Required minimum distribution workshop
If you're a retired UFT member who elected to defer their Tax-Deferred Annuity (TDA), and you're approaching 72 or already are 72, we encourage you to register for this online workshop. We'll be joined by experts from the Teachers' Retirement System, Board of Education Retirement System and Groom Law Group who will provide information about your TDA's required minimum distribution (RMD).

Pension Clinic: Annual Benefits Statement and Death Benefits
At this clinic for all UFT members in the Teachers' Retirement System, we'll introduce the retirement planning process, provide information about understanding your Annual Benefit Statement and discuss the death benefit for survivors if a member dies.
