LearnUFT courses for Paraprofessionals

LearnUFT is proud to offer professional learning courses open to paraprofessionals, including many specifically designed to meet their needs. Remember that only paraprofessionals who hold a Level III teaching assistant certificate are required to collect Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) hours. Level III teaching assistant certificate holders are required to collect and track 100 PD CTLE hours in each five-year cycle. Of those 100 hours, 15 hours must be in the area of instruction for English language learners.

In this two-day summer institute, K-12 educators will examine the Culturally and Historically Responsive Education framework. Participants will consider how genius and joy are embedded into daily instruction in alignment with the Next Generation Learning Standards. Four CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.

In this three-day Teacher Center Summer Institute workshop, participants will develop a shared understanding of the definition and attributes associated with dyslexia. Opportunities will be provides for participants to explore strategies and scaffolds that support student success in the classroom and beyond. Six CTLE hours will be credited upon completion of this course.
