LearnUFT courses for Paraprofessionals

LearnUFT is proud to offer professional learning courses open to paraprofessionals, including many specifically designed to meet their needs. Remember that only paraprofessionals who hold a Level III teaching assistant certificate are required to collect Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) hours. Level III teaching assistant certificate holders are required to collect and track 100 PD CTLE hours in each five-year cycle. Of those 100 hours, 15 hours must be in the area of instruction for English language learners.

In this LearnUFT workshop for high school teachers and paraprofessionals, participants will learn a variety of techniques for effective lesson planning, including differentiating between lessons and units, allowing for student choice in instruction and grouping strategies. CTLE hours will be available.

Save the date for Teacher Union Day! Teacher Union Day offers an opportunity to celebrate recent accomplishments while remembering the brave educators who put everything on the line in the 1960 strike that provided the impetus that made the UFT the force it is today.
