Students in the Career and Technical Education dance program at Talent Unlimited HS in Manhattan learn not only technique and performance but also how to choreograph, produce and direct.

The United Federation of Teachers supports the inclusion of music, visual and performing art classes on a regular basis in every school as part of the curriculum.

The cream of the crop of student dancers from 16 schools across the city gave colorful and jubilant performances before an audience of nearly 400 at the UFT’s 11th annual Celebration of Dance Festival at Long Island City HS on May 18.
