Welcome to the Social Workers & Psychologists Chapter
Welcome to the Social Workers and Psychologists Chapter website. As your chapter leader, I aim to strengthen our chapter through unification and with information.
Your chapter is composed of many subgroups, from the school-based support team to the Committees on Special Education and District 75 members. We have social workers in programs like Single Shepherd, Early Childhood Education and Bridging the Gap. We also have members in roles such as a mandated counselor or those who work in a DOE borough office. As a chapter, we're growing and expanding. It's important to me to ensure all of our members are recognized and supported. I hope to see members from all groups present at our meetings so that everyone's concerns are heard.
On our chapter pages, you'll find important information. Due to our size, we're fortunate to have at least one representative for each borough who can provide support in concert with me. There are also resources related to your work, our calendar of events and an archive of newsletters. Our "You Should Know" section offers the answers to commonly-asked questions on issues including our work day. Please familiarize yourself with this information and your contract.
My role as the chapter leader is to provide support and information to members. Please email me your concerns or questions at firstname.lastname@example.org, making sure to include your name, school, UFT member ID number and phone number. This information allows me to respond more promptly. Remember: All union-related emails should be sent from your personal, non-DOE email account.
For questions not directly related to our chapter, contact your UFT borough office. Borough offices are open weekdays, and staff members there can answer a range of questions about your pension, salary, health benefits and more.
To receive the latest information from our chapter and your union, make sure to register to receive our emails on the website. If your contact information changes, let us know by clicking on "My Account" in the upper right-hand corner of the website once you're logged in. I also recommend downloading the UFT mobile app which provides a shortcut to your membership card, contract, retail discounts and other valuable resources. Stay connected with your union as it continues to work hard for you.
Thank you for everything you do!
