Philadelphia Museum of Art — May 6, 2017 SOLD OUT
Come join us as we travel to historic Philadelphia on May 6, 2017 to tour the latest blockbuster exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, "American Watercolor in the Age of Homer and Sargent." This exhibit examines the rise of watercolors, a major medium of choice for many of the leading painters of the period between 1860 and 1925. This museum also features an amazing permanent collection and there will be time to explore it before we depart for our luncheon at Positano Coast. Package of $98 (add $1 for handling) includes round-trip motor coach, driver’s gratuity, all admission fees and lunch. Montreal Jazz Festival — July 3-6, 2017
Come party with UFT members, retirees, friends and family as we make our annual visit to Canada’s premiere Jazz Fest. Included in this very popular trip will be round-trip motor coach (with tour director), three nights at the Delta Montreal Hotel with daily buffet breakfasts, three dinners at local restaurants, tickets to two concerts, a four-hour guided bus tour of Montreal, admission to the Basilica of Notre Dame and leisure time to wander through the Jean Talon Market, the Old Port and of course, Old Montreal. En route each way, we will make a stop at the Adirondacks Outlet Mall in Lake George, NY, where you may have lunch on your own. Departure is from the Queens UFT at 97-77 Queens Blvd at 7:30 a.m. and from UFT headquarters in Manhattan, at 52 Broadway, at 8 a.m. Return will be to Manhattan, followed by Queens. Harriet Tubman Path to Freedom — Oct. 7-9, 2017
The UFT has organized an exciting three-day trip over Columbus Day Weekend on the eastern coast of Maryland. We will walk in the footsteps of Harriet Tubman as we learn about her amazing life, tour the new Underground Railroad Museum and visit the du Pont family estate, Winterthur, with its exquisite gardens, hotel and mansion. A weekend rich in history and contrasts! Your package includes two nights at St. Michaels Hotel, including buffet breakfasts, lunch on Hooper’s Island; dinner in Easton, MD and a special High Tea at the DuPont Hotel. $664 single occupancy; $515 double and $466 for triple, per person. Included are all transportation costs, museum and tour fees, driver’s gratuity and a $30 credit at the casino in Dover Downs, where we can play the slots. We will also visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum; and Kennett Square, PA, the mushroom capital of the country, noted for its charming shops and art galleries. UFT Defensive Driving Course
A driving course that can save you money and maybe your life!
For credit you must attend one full-day course or both parts of a two-session course, in sequence (if you miss the first class you cannot take the second). Limit: 40 students.
Bronx: One session, 8:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m.— Saturday, June 24
Brooklyn: Two sessions, 4–7:15 p.m.— June 6–7
Manhattan: One session, 8:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m.— Sundays, April 30, June 4
Queens: One session, 9 a.m.–4:15 p.m.— Saturdays, May 20, June 17
Staten Island: One session, 8:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m.— Saturday, June 3
Cost: $40 per person. Checks must be received one month prior to first preference and must be made payable to UFT/Safe Driving. Write “Safe Driving” on envelope. Discount movie tickets
TO PURCHASE TICKETS BY MAIL, download this form. There is a four-ticket minimum for mail orders. Orders of over $100 require a money order and will be mailed via UPS, requiring a signature. You may also come in person to UFT headquarters at 52 Broadway in Manhattan, where we accept personal checks up to $100, money orders and cash in any amount.
