Tickets for stage performances, sporting events or any event of a commercial nature require a service fee of $1 per event (not per ticket). Tickets are mailed two weeks prior to the date of an event. For undated passes and discounts, allow three weeks for processing. No cancellations or refunds.

Car rental discounts

Looking for a deal? Enterprise Rent-A-Car has discounts on its rental vehicles to UFT members. The deal includes a free pickup and dropoff. Theme park discounts

The UFT no longer offers discount cards to theme parks (Sea World, Busch Gardens, Sesame Place, etc.), but as a union member you can still obtain discounts from NYSUT by calling 1-800-626-8101; or from the AFT by visiting its website, www.aft.org, and clicking on AFT Plus Member Benefits.

Discount movie tickets

Discounted movie tickets are $7.50 each for United Artists/Regal, AMC/Loew's and Clearview Cinemas. They are accepted nationwide and never expire. However, they are not valid for the first 10 days of a new release and a surcharge may be applicable for 3D, special events and for use in Manhattan (UA and Clearview only).

To purchase tickets by mail, download this form, or come to UFT headquarters at 52 Broadway where we accept money orders, cash and personal checks up to $100. NOTE: There is a four ticket minimum for mail orders.

UFT Defensive Driving Course

A driving course that can save you money and maybe your life!

For credit you must attend one full-day course or both parts of a two-session course, in sequence (if you miss the first class you cannot take the second). Limit: 40 students. Currently being offered at these borough offices: *Members who have their auto insurance policies with MetLife through NYSUT are entitled to a $30 refund if they take a NYSUT-sponsored course; if the insurance is through an outside agency, the refund offer does not apply. Also, family members will only be reimbursed if they are NYSUT members. Refunds will be received approximately six weeks after course completion. To register, download this form.

• MANHATTAN: One session, 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.: May 11, June 22
• BROOKLYN: Two sessions, 4-7:15 p.m.: June 4 & 5
• QUEENS: One session, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.: May 4, June 8
• BRONX: One session, 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.: May 18, June 15.
• STATEN ISLAND: One session, 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m.: May 5, June 8.

Cost: $35 per person. Checks must be received one month prior to first preference and must be made payable to UFT/Safe Driving. Write “Safe Driving” on envelope. Confirmation: A letter will be sent to you indicating admittance or denial based on state class-size regulations. If you do not receive a letter in two weeks, call 212-598-6861. Refunds: If you cannot attend, please submit a written request with a copy of your canceled check (front and back). Allow four weeks to receive refund. Refunds can only be given during the current school year that original request was submitted. Credit: You may take a course only once every three years for insurance reduction benefits, and once every 18 months for point reduction. For active members only.
