Welcome to the School Secretaries Chapter
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the School Secretaries web page. Leading a chapter of about 3,000 school secretaries, I am honored to serve as your chapter leader. It is an enormous responsibility and I dedicate myself to the tasks before us.
This page will keep you informed about our chapter’s activities and accomplishments as well as news about our union.
A wide variety of resources are available to you here. You will find information about our union, including the latest news pertinent to school secretaries; contact information for your union representatives; relevant forms and surveys; and information on the various services, programs and benefits available to you as a member of the School Secretaries Chapter.
Our mission is to bargain for better wages and working conditions for our members and protect our rights as working professionals in our city schools. We also advocate on behalf of students and parents: our contracts guarantee an environment in which we can provide the highest quality service. As school secretaries, we have important jobs to do — and we want to ensure a work environment where we can do them!
We need to stand strong so we can work together regarding our many issues and concerns. Please make your best efforts to attend as many meetings as possible. In addition, please send emails to email@example.com from your non-DOE email address with your concerns and issues. We will then work together to try and resolve them and bring back a healthy and respectful work environment for all secretaries.
I hope you will take advantage of this web page to stay up to date and become more involved with your union! We will also try to keep you informed about any developments affecting our chapter via your non-DOE email address. Please reach out to your colleagues to be sure everyone has given their personal email address to the UFT membership department as all correspondence will be via the Internet. Members can sign up on uft.org which will ensure that you receive union email messages.
Thank you again for your continued support.
