Welcome to the School Secretaries Chapter
Mona Gonzalez
Dear colleagues,
For those of you that already know me, I want to say thanks for the support and encouragement. For those that don’t, I look forward to meeting and working with you.
Part of my vision is to see a school secretary on every SLT and UFT Consultation Committee, not as a secretary taking minutes, but as a vital part of the school contributing new ideas and sharing their visions. The secretary is the backbone of the school and not just someone with office skills.
We have much to accomplish to get our chapter to where it needs to be, and I hope that we can all work together as a “family” to achieve this goal. It is the beginning of new ideas and camaraderie. Each and every secretary needs to stand up and be counted.
We are looking forward to seeing more new faces at meetings and functions. I urge each secretary to bring a friend – increasing the numbers will make us a stronger chapter.
I look forward to meeting all secretaries to discuss ideas, issues and concerns and work on ways to get them accomplished.
Sincerely,
Mona Gonzalez
Chapter Chairperson
