Janella Hinds, UFT Vice President for Academic High Schools, and Leo Gordon, UFT Vice President for Career and Technical High Schools, submitted testimony before the New York City Council Committees on Education and Technology on developing policies and practices around the role of emerging technologies in our schools. 

UFT Secretary LeRoy Barr submitted testimony to the City Council Committee on Finance regarding the New York City executive budget. 

UFT President Michael Mulgrew and UFT member Jennifer Rosario, a bilingual social worker covering five Brooklyn high schools, testified on the need for the state to make sure resources reach the schools as part of any changes to state discipline codes.

Anne Goldman, the UFT vice president for non-DOE members and the head of the Federation of Nurses/UFT, testified before the New York City Council Committees on Hospitals and Health in support of Council Member Julie Menin's bill to create an Office of Health Care Accountability to rein in overcharges by hospitals and create an independent commission to oversee the pricing of hospital services.
