Died March 3, 2017Edward Markowitz taught air-conditioning and refrigeration at DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx for 22 years.
Died January 28, 2017Robert “Bob” Kahn was a UFT member for 50 years, most recently as a programmer at George Westinghouse HS in Brooklyn.

Died November 19, 2016Gerald Fitzgerald was a media teacher and a dean at MS 324 in Washington Heights.
Died September 19, 2016Irene Ruth Hammer Goldstein taught at PS 115 in Queens and was a UFT chapter leader.
Died September 14, 2016Alice Lombardi was a mathematics coordinator for the Department of Education.
Died August 8, 2016Sylvia Kuller taught English at IS 246 in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and later became a guidance counselor at the school.
Died August 6, 2016Mildred Lucille Gersh was a teacher at PS 78 in the Bronx and subsequently a reading coordinator for District 11 in the Bronx.
