Free confidential mental health services
You’re always there for the families of NYC. When life gets tough, who’s there for you?
UFT Family Childcare Chapter members now have two outstanding new benefits:
- Ten free virtual mental health visits with a dedicated therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist per family, per year (through the Provider Wellness program’s Telemedicine benefit).
- Unlimited, free access to the UFT helpline provided by Vibrant Emotional Health (through the Provider Wellness program’s Mental Health Services benefit).
With the UFT Helpline, members receive:
- 24 hours a day, seven days a week access to counseling
- In-the-moment assistance with feelings of loss, hopelessness, anxiety, anger, or thoughts of suicide
- Guidance for de-escalating crises, managing stress in challenging situations, and keeping calm
- Assistance in a psychiatric emergency
- Referrals for substance use treatment centers
- Help getting immediate services at hospitals and mental health agencies within the five boroughs
- Referrals for ongoing mental health services
