Brooklyn paraprofessionals are invited to register for a remote UFT Teacher Center learning series designed to explore meaningful strategies for literacy instruction. In this workshop, attendees will learn how morphology builds student vocabulary and how effective questioning promotes reading comprehension. This session will take place at your school via Zoom during scheduled Monday professional development time. Participants will earn one hour of CTLE credit by completing this session. 

This interactive workshop for Brooklyn North and Brooklyn District 75 paraprofessionals is designed to equip paraprofessionals with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and effectively implement functional behavior assessments (FBA), behavior intervention plans (BIP), and progress monitoring strategies. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the purpose and process of an FBA, how to interpret and apply a BIP to support student independence, and practical methods for tracking and monitoring behavior progress.

Earn one hour of CTLE credit with the AFT National Academy for AI Instruction at this free, online workshop for teachers and paraprofessionals. Join us to explore how you can use AI to differentiate instruction and scaffold learning for English language learners (ELLs) at all proficiency levels. In this session, we’ll focus on adapting grade-level content, designing targeted supports and responding to the unique linguistic needs of each student. We’ll practice crafting AI prompts to inform instruction for ELLs, and we’ll address misconceptions about AI in education.

This workshop will focus on retirement planning, Pension TDA and Roth and concerns of paraprofessionals.

This session will take place at your school via Zoom during scheduled Monday professional development time. Participants will earn one hour of CTLE credit by completing this session.
