School Violence Prevention and Intervention
The New York State Education Department requires all teachers who are seeking initial or permanent state certification to take this workshop. School staffers can use techniques and practical approaches to avoid and defuse violent situations in school. This workshop gives participants an understanding of the dynamics of assaultive, aggressive behavior and tools to avoid becoming victimized in school.

The UFT offers this in-person workshop to union dues-paying paraprofessionals and pedagogues (teachers, school counselors, physical and occupational therapists, school secretaries, etc.) for a $25 fee paid via credit card once you register online. Participants are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the workshop begins.
Non-members must mail in a $50 money order (no personal checks) made payable to the UFT once they have completed their online registration. Mail to:
