The UFT Executive Board will inform members of the vigil for Alex Pretti so they may attend as a show of support for Mr. Pretti, his family, the AFGE and all people opposed to the violent conduct of ICE.

The UFT will call for an emergency demonstration and day of action here in New York, in solidarity with our fellow unionists and with students, faculty, staff, and immigrant communities in Minnesota on Friday, January 23rd.

The United Federation of Teachers will roll-out a “Fix Tier 6 in ‘26” campaign with action in January, February and March, both in schools and through social media, and build to a massive rally in Albany, NY, on March 8, 2026.
