Directors of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs

The Directors of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs are responsible for the year-round administration, supervision, work-plan development and implementation of alcohol and substance abuse prevention and education programs across the New York City school system.

Duties include:

  • The implementation of OASAS and Title IV grants
  • NYS/PARIS/OASAS online reporting
  • SAPIS supervision
  • District crisis response teams
  • Drug and violence prevention professional development
  • State and federal budgets
  • Program and staff evaluation
  • Site development
  • Staffing and placement
  • Principal training
  • CBO collaboration
  • Summer youth development programming
  • After-school programming
  • Special events and initiatives
  • Technical assistance for school administrators and staff
