Speech Improvement

Dear UFT Speech Chapter Members,

It is with great pride, as your UFT Chapter Leader, that I welcome you to the Speech Chapter website. The UFT Speech Chapter webpage will keep members informed about their rights, updated speech information, events and accomplishments. Please log on frequently and sign up, if you haven’t already, with the UFT Membership Department (212-598-6855) to receive emails from our chapter and the UFT.

Brenda Caquias and Susannah Blum, your assistant chapter leaders, and I are here to answer your speech-related questions and help you make informed choices. You can contact us through the UFT call center at 212-331-6312, or you can send a concise email to cmurphy@uft.org.

For non-speech related questions, please call the UFT at 212-331-6311 to ask for the specific department that can answer your questions.

Many issues and concerns arise repeatedly in our chapter. Our monthly meetings are an opportunity to be updated, discuss speech issues, learn the answers to your questions, help resolve your problems and learn what is happening across the city. I urge you to attend our monthly meetings to stay informed. If you are unable to attend the meetings you can view the power points under the Newsletters/PowerPoint tab.

Along with the entire Executive Board, I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you,

In unity,

Caroline Murphy, MS, CCC-SLP, TSHH
Speech Chapter Leader
