Help support student dignity and well-being at Escuela Elemental, Dr. Julio J. Henna

Escuela Elemental, Dr. Julio J. Henna, a Title I institution in Puerto Rico, serves a community confronting significant economic and social hardships. These challenges directly impact students' lives, affecting essential needs like basic hygiene, school attendance, self-confidence and overall readiness to learn.

While the school currently provides limited, temporary measures, these are insufficient to meet student needs in a manner that upholds their dignity.

A comprehensive solution is to establish a partnership with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) to install a student shower and clothing closet. This initiative will create a safe, supportive space that directly fosters student health, self-esteem and consistent engagement in school.
