School Librarians

Welcome to the School Librarians Professional Committee

 We’re a group of educators  who gather to share  ideas, plan conferences, workshops and fun  activities with other educators  who share a  belief in the power  of school libraries.  Membership is open to all UFT members!

School libraries are a vital component in inculcating literacy, critical thinking, technological competency and citizenship in our students.  We commit to collaborating with other teachers, parents and educational groups, especially our public libraries and professional organizations, as well as the UFT leadership,  toward this goal.
