Yes, membership in the Teachers’ Retirement System is available — but optional — for paraprofessionals. You may enroll at any time, but your decision is irrevocable. Your membership would begin as of the date that TRS receives your enrollment form. Once you enroll, you must maintain your membership for as long as you are in a TRS-eligible position.
