NYC Childcare Navigator can now help families find free 2K seats
The free NYC Childcare Navigator can now help city families find childcare providers who offer New York City's 2,000 free 2K seats.
With the June 26 deadline to apply for 2K rapidly approaching, this new feature comes at a crucial time for families.
A unique feature of NYC Childcare Navigator is that it allows childcare programs to update the information that families want such as languages spoken, meals served, special needs accommodated, photos, and more.

Beyond 2K, NYC Childcare Navigator lists over 10,000 home-based, center-based, and school-based 3K-and-up childcare programs in NYC – the most comprehensive directory available for the five boroughs.
All listings may be filtered by zip code, languages spoken, hours of operation, special needs accommodated, and many other parameters that make it easy to find childcare that meets their family’s unique needs. Of the more than 500 programs offering free 2K seats, almost 20% have enhanced listings in NYC Childcare Navigator - with more coming all the time.
In addition, families can quickly and confidentially find out if they qualify for more than 10 free, discounted, or subsidized childcare programs, as well as SNAP, WIC, and the Section 8 housing voucher. Any one of these benefits can easily save NYC families thousands to tens of thousands of dollars per year.
