UFT condemns Gov. Hochul's decision to enroll New York State in Trump's private school voucher program

UFT President Michael Mulgrew issued the following statement after Gov. Hochul announced New York State's participation in the Trump administration's school voucher program. 

"Giving up local control of public education to the federal government through the Trump administration's private school voucher scheme is a failure of leadership. Gov. Hochul will bear the responsibility, but our students, educators, and families will bear the price.

Parents, teachers, and public education supporters are going to continue to do what we can to roll back this policy and protect our classrooms."
