The Department of Citywide Administrative Services advised us today, May 2, that exams for Administrative Education Analysts and Administrative Education Officers have been postponed. The DCAS website was just updated to reflect this.

Although the union is called the United Federation of Teachers, the membership has grown to include many other types of educators and professionals who serve the children of New York City in a variety of ways.These Department of Education-employed members have functional chapters of their own to address common issues and concerns.

Administrative education officers and analysts on Dec. 7 overwhelmingly ratified their first collective-bargaining agreement with the city Department of Education.

With the retirement of the chapter leader of the Administrative Education Officers and Analysts Chapter earlier this year, the UFT is now holding an election for the chapter leader.

We now have an agreement with the DOE, as the result of a grievance filed by the UFT, that will allow administrative education officers and analysts to have their own chapter leader. The chapter leader will have one day per week of release time to represent members and manage chapter business. This is crucial to the development of our chapter.
