Please attend our monthly School Nurses Chapter meeting. I will provide chapter and union updates and answer any questions you have. This is a great opportunity to find out what is happening in your chapter and hear what your fellow members have to say.

UFT members are making it “visible,” making it “human,” and making it “loud” when it comes to advocating for the need to “Fix Tier 6.”  Members are pushing state lawmakers to fix Tier 6 of the state’s pension system by lowering the retirement age for Tier 6 members to age 55 after 30 years of service. Every month on the 6th, members will participate in a coordinated action in support of fixing Tier 6, culminating with a rally in Albany on March 8.

The UFT's annual Black History Month film series will run from Thursday, Jan. 29, to Thursday, Feb. 26, this school year. The theme is "Echoes of Resilience: Stories of Heritage and Struggle." From the preserved traditions of the Gullah Geechee people to the frontlines of health care activism and personal battles for identity and survival, these films celebrate the enduring power of our community. Each screening will be followed by a guided discussion. Join this session to view the film Rob Peace.

Join Katherine Kurjakovic, a UFT English language learner specialist, at a special town hall for Bronx UFT members. We'll discuss how we can support immigrant students and families at a time when they may be feeling deeply unsafe.
