As a NYSUT member, we are offering you and up to 5 of your family members the CALM app for FREE.
NAMI NYC
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization, dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through education, advocacy, and support.
UFT MAP has partnered with NAMI's New York City chapter, NAMI-NYC, to offer In Our Own Voice presentations—free mental health education workshops led by individuals with lived experience. These workshops support educator wellness by fostering understanding, reducing stigma, and creating space for open, compassionate conversations about mental health, while offering meaningful insight and connection for those navigating stress, burnout, and emotional challenges.
CTSE
The Center for Trauma & Stress Education (CTSE) is a national organization dedicated to providing evidence-based, practical tools for healing to individuals and organizations impacted by stress and trauma. Founded through a research and training collaboration at Harvard Medical School, CTSE's work is rooted in trauma-informed, skills-based education that supports resilience and recovery.
UFT MAP recognizes the importance of having effective tools to manage stress and trauma and partners with CTSE to offer STEP and LEAP workshops. Through these workshops, educators gain accessible strategies to better understand stress and trauma responses and to foster regulation, connection, and overall well-being in both their professional and personal lives.
