Sallie Mae invites school counselors to nomination high school juniors and seniors for the $25,000 Bridging the Dream Scholarship before the deadline of Aug. 23.

High school seniors in public schools who are of Hispanic/Latino heritage and have parents or guardians who are union members are eligible to apply for a $1,000 scholarship from the AFT.

On Jan. 9, the DOE released this guidance in the Principal's Weekly stating that guidance counselors cannot serve as test-room proctors or hall monitors except in emergencies.

Proposals are now being accepted for the 6th annual National Evidence-Based School Counseling Conference, which will take place March 19-20, 2018 at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), 1855 Broadway in Manhattan. The deadline for proposals is Monday, Oct. 2.

The UFT School Counselors Chapter will celebrate its 14th annual School Counselor Conference on Saturday, March 10, 2018. We seek proposals from guidance counselors who would like to present workshops on social/emotional support topics that they have successfully presented to students or parents.
