Unions sue over ed, nursing degree limits
The AFT and a coalition of unions is suing the US Department of Education over its policy of excluding education and nursing from the "professional" designation, making students in those advanced degree programs eligible for only up to half of what students in so-called professional programs.
Stick to the science
New York State and New York City’s recommended school and child care vaccine schedule remains the same now as it was before President Donald Trump’s Aug. 10 executive order on vaccinations. That is as it should be, the UFT opines. Trump failed to provide any new scientific findings to justify the change. To protect everyone's safety and health, the UFT advocates sticking to the science.

BERS to TRS transfer form due Dec. 10
UFT members who have requested to transfer from the Board of Education Retirement System to the Teachers’ Retirement System must complete and notarize a key form by Dec. 10 for their transfer to be finalized.
