UFT Family Day 2026

More than 2,000 UFT members and their families turned out to a sports center facility on Long Island for a weekend day of games, bounce houses, food and fun for the fourth annual UFT Family Day.

Asian American Heritage Dinner

About 200 UFT members and guests attended the UFT Asian American Heritage Committee's celebration of AANHPI (Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander) Heritage Month.

District 11 Scholarship Dinner

A record 550 members and guests turned out for the District 11 Scholarship Dinner, where for the eighth year District Representative Dana Falciglia has organized the event to celebrate the successes of the Bronx district.

Reelect Tom Brown to TRS board

The Delegate Assembly by an 83 percent vote has endorsed UFT Assistant Treasurer Tom Brown for reelection as a teacher-member of the New York City Teachers’ Retirement System Board. The election by in-service TRS members takes place May 13 at New York City public schools.

RESPECT check legislation makes headway

At the March Delegate Assembly. UFT President Michael Mulgrew said significant progress had been made toward passage of the RESPECT check bill during a report where he also provided updates on the impact of the state's increased funding for 3K and 2K initiatives and Tier 6 reform.

Care for city’s youngest on tap

Discarded plastic bottles inspired Katrina Thomas, the chapter leader at PS 289 in Brooklyn, to take the initiative to raise money to build a kindergarten in Ghana.

Invitational Golf Outing

About 100 attendees turned out for a round of golf to raise money for the UFT Disaster Relief Fund on Oct. 26 for the union's annual Invitational Golf Outing.
