WHEREAS, the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) is committed to supporting candidates and policies that strengthen public education and uplift working families across New York City; and

WHEREAS, New York City Council District 3 represents diverse communities whose students, families, educators, and school staff deserve strong leadership and safe, supportive learning environments; and

WHEREAS, Carl Wilson has demonstrated commitment to public service, public education, community engagement, and the well-being of the families in District 3; and

WHEREAS, in his role as Chief of Staff to Erik Bottcher, Carl Wilson supported and continues to support policies that align with UFT’s priorities, including fair compensation for paraprofessionals and school staff, expanded community schools, fully funded Teacher Centers, mental health supports for students, and safe school communities; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the United Federation of Teachers endorses Carl Wilson as the next City Council Member representing District 3; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the UFT encourages its members, families, and community partners to engage in the democratic process and support Carl Wilson’s campaign to advance policies that benefit students, educators, and working families throughout District 3.
