Join Bronx UFT Educational Liaison Latrice Curry for an informative workshop designed to help educators navigate New York State certification requirements and stay on track throughout their careers. Participants will learn how to access and manage their NYSED TEACH accounts, understand certification pathways and deadlines, monitor required application and registration requirements, and gain clarity on tenure eligibility and processes.

UFT organizers of this year’s event treated 140 Bronx families to a KidZone & Community Resource Fair at the Bronx borough office. The event featured educational seminars and helpful information for parents from UFT’s Dial-A-Teacher homework helpline, the BRAVE anti-bullying initiative and partners including the Red Cross.  There also was plenty of fun — face-painting and giveaways  — for the kids.

Women supporting and empowering other women was a key theme of the UFT’s seventh annual HERstory brunch that brought together about 175 members and guests to celebrate women’s role in the UFT and the broader labor movement.

Eight teachers, three paraprofessionals, eight students, two principals and three PTA presidents received awards at the UFT District 11 Scholarship Dinner on March 28 before a gathering of 540 attendees at a Bronx restaurant.
