Through membership in the UFT, retirees have access to thousands of deals on everything from reduced-price Broadway and movie tickets to discounts on flights, hotels, cruises, flowers, meal preparation services and New York Yankees tickets.
One of the most popular benefits for retirees is discount tickets at participating United Artists and Regal cinemas. Members can purchase $10 tickets online with a credit or debit card. Tickets are delivered by email and do not expire. UFT members who join the Theatre Development Fund for $42 a year receive discounts up to 70% on Broadway and off-Broadway shows.
The union offers a variety of travel deals, such as up to 25% off base rates at Avis, Budget and Hertz, up to 40% off qualified hotels on Booking.com, up to 25% off hotels booked on Engine and 8% off select hotels on Expedia.com. Another popular discount is up to 50% off tickets for select New York Yankees home games.
For shopping, UFT members can get 15% off J. Crew and New York & Company products and 30% off select footwear at Skechers, as well as 15% off at gifts.com, 20% off at 1-800-Flowers and 15% off at GourmetGiftBaskets.com. They can get spa discounts, including $10 off a Massage Envy monthly membership.
Corporate Shopping provides discounts and special offers for UFT members at more than 250 national retailers and financial service providers, such as Costco, Sam’s Club, Walt Disney World, Chase Home Mortgage and the GE Appliance Store.
Members also have access to Plum Benefits for discounts at hotels around the world, shows, theme parks, restaurants and retailers, and Teacher Perks for deals at 200 top national retailers that offer discounts on apparel, appliances, beauty, electronics, automobiles and other goods and services.
