Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) virtual workshop

All new teachers and school-related professionals applying for New York State certification must take this state mandated workshop. 

Methods of Teaching Language and Literacy for English Language Learners

Register for this graduate-level course designed for New York City Teachers. Participants can earn three A+ or P credits towards their salary differential and 45 CTLE hours in the education of English language learners. Each 15-session course can also be used to fulfill three semester hours of the "Methods of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages" requirement for state certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Language, Culture and Learning for English Language Learners (Weekday Sessions)

The course will examine cultural and language development factors that impact the achievement of students learning English as a new language. Participants will explore research-based pedagogical practices that can be used to design instruction that meets the needs of English Language Learners. Special emphasis will be placed on student empowerment and agency through inclusive environments and assessments. Participants will be required to complete a paper, midterm quiz and final project.

Providers OCFS Health and Safety Training

Register to attend OCFS Health and Safety Training for providers. The New York State Office of Children and Family Services requires that all new family or group child care providers complete a 15-hour state-approved training course before becoming a licensed child care provider. Participants must attend all three sessions of the course in the same cohort to receive certification. This training is NOT for informal providers.
